Collaborative Learning

training & Workshops

Join us for workshops and events in Central Alberta, designed to help you live your best life.  See descriptions of each below, and check out our Facebook or Meetup pages for dates.

Chapter Notes is a book club where we do all the work for you! Join us for a summary discussion of the ideas authors bring forward in the world of positive psychology. We will announce the book we are discussing on our Facebook and Meetup pages, and and if it is a book you have thought or reading or wondered about, come and join us. We will touch on the key points the author makes and discuss how and if it makes sense in our lives.

There is no fee, just come and share your thoughts with us as we explore the minds of authors in the field of Positive Psychology, every second Sunday afternoon.

Please call or email to register.

Living a Life of Value for Couples

Values are what is important to us, what we 'value', and what gives us purpose. This is true for ourselves as well as our relationship. This workshop is designed to assist you in identifying and using your values to learn more about each other and build a stronger unified relationship. You will learn:

  • Identify your own values
  • Learn the values of your partner and how they play a role in your relationship
  • Identify your own relationship values
    • Learn to give attention to the value, not the argument
    • Make choices that honor your values while not stepping on the values of your partner

This is a 4-session class on Monday nights, from 6-8 pm.  November 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2017.

The fee for this class is $175 per couple.  Please call or email JoAnne to register.

Coaching Conversations  Coaches are trained to treat people as capable. We are not in the business of telling people what to think or how to go about something; this is not because we don't have ideas for how others could live their lives. It is because we are acutely aware that it is their life, all of it. Only they know what will be helpful to them. Whether you are eager to improve your conversations at work or at home, this is the class for you. You will learn:

  • Listening and self-management
  • Permissions and assumptions
  • Investing skills
  • Reflective strategies

This is a 4-session class on Monday nights, from 6-8 pm. January 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2018.

The fee for this class is $100 per person. Please call or email JoAnne at Pivotal Perspectives to register.

Purposeful Parenting  Whether you are parenting a little person or a big person, knowing who you are as a parent and who you need to be for your child can open the path to a relationship that promotes growth and attachment. This workshop is designed to assist you in uncovering your best self as it relates to parenting.  You will learn:

  • Identify what gets in the way of purposeful parenting
  • Recognizing reactions vs. responses
  • Identifying your values and how they impact parenting
  • Collaboration skills in parenting

This is a 5-session class on Wednesday nights, from 6-8 pm. January 10, 17, 24, 31, and February 7, 2018.

The fee for this class is $125 per person. Please call or email JoAnne at Pivotal Perspectives to register.
